MANILA, Philippines—A dismissed judge who claimed to be the fifth best psychic in the county is among the applicants for the chief justice post.
Former Malabon City regional trial court judge Florentino Floro filed his application for the highest post in the Supreme Court, along with Deputy Ombudsman for Luzon Victor Fernandez.
At the same time, Floro nominated Associate Justice Arturo Brion, lawyers Henry Villarica and Gregorio Batiller Jr. for the position, which will be vacated when Chief Justice Reynato Puno retires on May 17.
Floro hugged the limelight when he claimed he was aided in the court by three dwarfs: Luis, Armand and Angel. He said he was the “angel of death” and that he could write while in a trance.
In 2006, the Supreme Court ordered Floro’s dismissal from the bench after finding him suffering from psychosis that impaired his judgement.
The other candidates for the chief justice post include: Associate Justice Renato Corona, Senior Associate Justice Antonio Carpio, Associate Justice Conchita Carpio-Morales, and Special Prosecutor Dennis Villa-Ignacio.
Associate Justices Antonio Eduardo Nachura and Presbitero Velasco declined the nomination.
The Judicial and Bar Council closed the nomination for the chief justice post at exactly 5 p.m. Thursday.

If you download and read the 26 pages Verified Feb 4 SC pleading I filed, it is not really my application for CJ (such being a mere political satire and insult to the mentally decrepit JBC) but a firm prophecy or blocking of Arturo D. Brion’s ambition to be CJ. Period.
Mark my word, they will regret it!

I never voted since 1970- since politics is dirty at kung may padrino ko at connection, dyan ka lang makakapwesto in the BIR Customs DENR DPWH which are 4 of many gates of Hades.
