What is the difference between PLAN and EXECUTE? Every dictionary shows that PLAN is a state of mind showing purpose or aim while EXECUTE means to carry out fully or put completely into effect.
Are there any dictionary showing that both words mean the same? Or can people who are so much in love or deep stress make a mistake thinking that both words mean the same?
Like the words PLAN and EXECUTE, the word INTENT is also a mental state. I dont pretend to be an expert on people’s state of mind. I speak of myself. Usually, intent appears on my mind because of some strong feelings brought about by an event. This intent is sometimes good, sometimes bad.
For example, if there are really annoying people, dont you ever wish they will collapse in front of you and die? I do. If someone is testing your limits, did you ever, IN YOUR MIND set an ultimatum that if these person dont stop, you will bury them on the deepest earth so that heat of the core will incinerate their sorry asses? Or you will kill them and piss on their dead skull? I do.
The question is, do such thoughts make me liable if indeed someone buried them and their sorry asses were incinerated by the heat of the earth’s core or someone killed them and pissed on their dead skull?
Yes, I can be prosecuted if I live in Washington D.C. during the year 2054 where there exist three “precogs” and technology built around them to see murders before they happen. So, even before these annoying people are killed, cops from the “Department of Pre-Crime” would have arrested me and I will be imprisoned without trial in the “Hall of Containment.”
Fortunately, such a scenario is a Tom Cruise’s movie “Minority Report.” In reality INTERNAL ACTS are beyond the sphere of penal laws. That is very basic. No one can enter into someone else’s mind unless of course you are a legilimence like Professor Albus Dumbledore and Severus Snape from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
Another question, what if i shared my thoughts with another person? Would that be any different?
Let’s have a simpler and less brutal example.
If friends A and B, who, because of their annoyance with C, thought of teaching C a lesson by sending a “white paper” to D’s spouse to inform the spouse that D is having an affair with C. A and B shared their thoughts to E. A few months later, Ds spouse did receive a white paper and was fuming at the letter writer. D, who, in the past confided to A and E that C is special immediately believed that the writer are among his closest friends. Why?
1. The letter writer used “gay lingo” which A and B sometimes uses;
2. The letter writer used shortcut words like in sending text messages and B, who emails him transcript of interviews uses similar shortcuts;
3. A and B envy C;
4. A, B, C, D, E and F are part of a close knit group which D termed as “inner circle.”
5. When D throw profanities at E, believing that E has something to do with the “paper,” E pointed to A and B as the one who had planned it months ago.
Is D and his sidekick F correct in concluding that because A and B planned it, they actually did it? Are the five reasons enough to convict A and B?
1. It would be ridiculous to assume any exclusivity on the use of the Gay lingo or “SwardSpeak.” A study conducted at the UP showed that gay lingo is now being used in print, film, television, and radio that the formerly marginalized sector has found acceptance and because of the “faggotification of the media,” homosexuals and of course the gay lingo penetrated the mainstream culture that today, even non-gays from all walks of life speak and understand even the most basic gay lingo. Therefore, A and B are merely part of the mainstream culture and such language they speak are not exclusively theirs.
2. Like the Gay Lingo, the advent of mobile technology gave rise to another form of language which is the Text Language or a shortcut of words to be able to say more in the limited space of cellular phones. In the Philippines, now also known as the text capital of the Asia or probably the world, more than 10-million people has cellular phone. For sure, its not only B who knows how to use the text language but millions of other people as well.
3. How did D came up with the idea that A and B envy C? Either D is hallucinating or D is probably a legilimence. Does D have any evidence to prove that A and B envy C and does D have the proof that if they really do envy C, they resorted to writing the “white paper”?
4. They may be part of an “inner circle” but do all their activities always, are shrouded in secrecy that no other people could see them going out of a hotel in the middle of a former red light district in Manila or people suddenly go blind when they attend a Christmas party? What about out of town travels? Cant other people see them? Maybe…if they are on a private plane but of course even the pilot will see them right? What about accompanying C at a press conferences attended by sniffing breed of members of the media? What about their “sponsors”? were they sworn to secrecy too? Didnt they ever thought that one or two of them might talk? What about the “curious”questions asked to them by their colleagues from the Senate or from Malacanang, MPD? How big is D’s “Inner Circle” really?
5. Are the words of E enough to assume that when A and B planned it, they already did it?
Again, PLAN is a state of mind showing purpose or aim while EXECUTE means to carry out fully or put completely into effect.
Can we blame D, or C or F or E for thinking that both words mean the same? To D, love does make man lose his reason. With love, the person is already controlled by emotion. The once upon a time intelligent, law graduate D even forgot the basics of criminal law, now convicting A and B based on presumptions.
Can we blame E for telling D? Maybe E was pressured to do so after being hit by profanities on the face. Still, it proved that it is important to follow Fox Mulder.
What about C and F? Well, i dont know.
Well, A and B are probably motivated to execute the plan because of their annoyance to C. But mere proof of motive, no matter how strong is not sufficient to support a conviction if there is no reliable evidence from which it may be reasonably deduced that A and B were the “letter-writers.”
Only the actual letter sent to Ds spouse holds the key. If it will be examined, the true male/femalefactor can be identified. But why is D hiding the letter?
Now, D is thinking of getting back at A and B. Vendetta. Apparently, A and B have been convicted despite the vague basis lay down on the table. D even phoned A’s sister telling her that he will SPIT on A and B if he will see them. Gentleman…Be sure to brush his teeth though…
What if its another person-another letter-writer?
Anyway, maybe to lovesick people, EXECUTE and PLAN are the same. Maybe people in love has a different court (A Supreme Cupid Court) and rules on evidence are different.
D will take a leave of absence and think of how he can get revenge at A and B. I guess the meaning of words got twisted in his head? Why? because of anger? of love (to whom)? betrayal (who? really?)
One thing is for sure…there is this Juvenal quote i like: “Revenge is always the weak pleasure of a little and narrow mind.”
